Born and raised in Bandarban, Bangladesh, in a landscape of hills, streams, and eleven ethnic communities. Research

Current work connects fisheries resource management with marine biology and aquatic tropical ecology. Research includes marine flora and fauna identification at Helgoland Research Station, Alfred Wegener Institute; marine chemical ecology in Harder’s Lab; and ecological modelling of an integrated multi-trophic aquaculture system using STELLA software.
